My question is how do you maintain this hairstyle, when you go to bed or during the week however long this may last I have micros in my hair now ready to take them out. I got a halo in august but my last full relaxer was in June :-) 4months

My name is Shaunte, and I’m transitioning to natural hair. My last perm was Feb. 2011;I have been wearing braids. I don’t want to chop my relaxed hair because it is long; so the twist style seems like it will work for me. I don’t know if I’ll ever chop my relaxed hair. Is that a good idea? And, do you plan on cutting your relaxed hair in the future?

Do you always have to wash your hair before gelling it and styling? Because I find my natural hairstyles only lasting a little less than a week, and I dont want to constantly wash my hair every week.
